In this video, we will show you some tips to learn how to change the color of the background, use mouse shortcuts to zoom, pan and rotate the view and create layouts with different views of your drawing.
1
00:00:09,600 –> 00:00:12,959
ARES Commander Edition 2014
2
00:00:13,180 –> 00:00:16,379
provides the ability to change the colors of the display
3
00:00:16,680 –> 00:00:19,80
to better fit your needs.
4
00:00:19,520 –> 00:00:25,200
To do so, we may select the Options box in a couple of ways.
5
00:00:25,900 –> 00:00:30,20
You can, either, find it here – in the application menu
6
00:00:30,180 –> 00:00:34,500
or in the contextual menu – by clicking the right button of your mouse,
7
00:00:34,640 –> 00:00:37,500
then you go to Display –
8
00:00:38,340 –> 00:00:40,340
Elements Colors –
9
00:00:42,200 –> 00:00:47,20
and from here, we can select the element to be modified,
10
00:00:47,800 –> 00:00:51,320
which, in our case is Model Background.
11
00:00:51,800 –> 00:00:53,140
Let’s change it to White
12
00:00:53,800 –> 00:00:55,160
and click OK.
13
00:00:55,360 –> 00:01:01,180
I’ll then press Enter to relaunch the last command, in this case, Options.
14
00:01:01,280 –> 00:01:04,860
The Command has a nice new feature, which is this search filter.
15
00:01:05,60 –> 00:01:08,40
This filter quickly helps you find any parameter –
16
00:01:08,360 –> 00:01:10,400
just by entering the first few letters.
17
00:01:10,520 –> 00:01:15,720
The software lists the options that can match the name we are looking for.
18
00:01:17,420 –> 00:01:22,320
To visualize our model, besides being able to zoom using the mouse wheel
19
00:01:22,320 –> 00:01:25,20
or scroll, by pressing it down
20
00:01:27,300 –> 00:01:29,640
When you hold down the Shift key
21
00:01:30,380 –> 00:01:33,640
while pressing the mouse wheel.
22
00:01:34,560 –> 00:01:43,40
The 3D orbit feature is activated and allows us to rotate the view very precisely and easily.
23
00:01:43,300 –> 00:01:47,340
Next, Allow me to remind you that just like in AutoCAD
24
00:01:47,520 –> 00:01:50,979
we have model space and paper space,
25
00:01:52,320 –> 00:01:55,600
which is represented by the feature – layouts.
26
00:01:55,640 –> 00:02:00,400
Layouts are used to set up sheets, views and scales of our project.
27
00:02:00,620 –> 00:02:04,540
If we press the right mouse button on one of these layouts
28
00:02:04,780 –> 00:02:10,160
the Sheet with tools such as Move or Copy.
29
00:02:13,500 –> 00:02:17,20
We can recognize the fimiliar UCS icon
30
00:02:17,300 –> 00:02:20,840
that now only shows x and y.
31
00:02:24,900 –> 00:02:30,360
Double clicking insice a viewport, we can activate it and change the point of view.
32
00:02:37,840 –> 00:02:39,840
Then double click outside,
33
00:02:40,360 –> 00:02:44,980
select the viewport. Now you can reduce its size
34
00:02:45,660 –> 00:02:47,500
and we can move
35
00:02:56,440 –> 00:02:59,380
and make a copy of the viewport.
36
00:03:02,540 –> 00:03:07,920
Again, we will enter inside a viewport by double clicking and change the point of view.
37
00:03:11,120 –> 00:03:17,540
More generally, we can then customize this sheet with tables, dimensions, and text-blocks
38
00:03:18,300 –> 00:03:24,320
or anything that matters for the final representation on paper of our project.
