Update & Modify 2D drawings created in AutoCAD Mechanical using ARES Mechanical Nowadays, new product design is most frequently done with 3D CAD solutions. But in parallel, billions of older 2D mechanical drawings need to be maintained. In this blog, we will see how we can use ARES Mechanical to update and modify 2D drawings that were created with AutoCAD Mechanical. Part-references and how to edit it? Let’s start with part references, which are represented here with blue points. With a double-click, we can edit the part ref information. In this dialogue we can, for example, click on Customize to add another field for the Vendor and slightly modify the description. We see here a quantity of 1. If the same part is inserted multiple times, we can change the quantity here. Copy part-reference Alternatively, we can copy a part ref several times in a quantity of 1, like this.
In this blog article, we’ll tell you how Kumagai Gumi introduced ARES to the world. Kumagai Gumi was founded in 1898. Since then, they have made efforts to social developments for 120 years such as the modernization of Japan, the reconstruction of ruinous national land after the war, and the rapid economic growth. They also have offices in Hong Kong, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, and Myanmar. Their firm employs almost 3,000 people in total. They construct not simply a building or structure, but also a community that will be formed by the individuals that come. “We can switch easily because it’s almost the same as AutoCAD.”Kumagai Corporation How did Kumagai Corporation learn about ARES Commander? Kumagai has previously used Autodesk’s products. However, as the number of licences grew, their costs grew as well. As a result, they began looking for compatible CAD software. They opted to use ARES in 2015 after

In this video, I will introduce to you ARES Mechanical, Graebert’s vertical solution for 2D Mechanical design in DWG format. Starting with Standards, the product includes ANSI Inch, ANSI Metric, BSI, DIN, ISO and JIS Standards. The Standards can be either set while the drawing is started or while the blocks are inserted from the libraries. Let us insert a Screw Connection and make a couple of Holes for the same drawing on the other views as well. The Screw Connections toolbox has all the list of available screw connections that can be inserted at any available sizes from the library, with or without the washers & nuts and also with a thread display of user’s requirement. The material thickness can be chosen from the input value or by selecting start and end point in the drawing. Here is an example of the Hex Bolt we defined inserted into the
