Licenses are only available as subscriptions, which means that when firms cannot pay the fee each year, the software stops working. This is a scary thought for firms, especially during times of recession, and so there is a new interest in alternatives to AutoCAD. Here is the story from a competitor. Use your ARES Commander license on other computers with LicenseToGo After activating a license on a principal computer, LicenseToGo enables you to reuse that license on an additional PC – for a limited period of time. LicenseToGo – How to Use Your ARES License on Several Computers NB: The LicenseToGo system was replaced from ARES Commander 2017 by the login / log out mechanism and the Customer Portal. LicenseToGo was first introduced in ARES Commander Edition 2014 SP2 and further enhanced in ARES Commander 2015. This feature allows you to work with the same license on other computers. It is available on the Perpetual license and Annual Plan for the duration of your Graebert subscription (see after) but not available on the Flex licenses (network licenses) where it is replaced by another mechanism that is quite similar (borrow a license from the network). ARES Kudo Is The New Name Chosen By Graebert For Its Cloud-Based CAD Technology Graebert revealed in April at COFES (the Congress On the Future of Engineering Software) its new DWG-based CAD platform. First introduced under its internal code-name the “Xenon project”, this full browser-based technology is now given its final name: “ARES Kudo”. We thought we could share with you in this article how we chose this name and why. The genesis After more than 3 years of efforts in research and development, ARES Kudo is now entering into production phase with the release of Onshape’s Drawing module. Onshape is the first partner of Graebert leveraging from this new full browser-based technology. Both companies actively collaborated to offer a seamless integration between Onshape’s 3D environment and Graebert’s drafting features. Graebert is now actively exploring other partnerships and will further reveal its strategy in October at the Graebert Annual Meeting.
